today (DT work)

Hi everyone!! This month's fabulous Scrap Our Stash Sketch + (3) Challenge is this;

I chose LIST1-Air Balloons, LIST2-Buttons & Black, LIST3-Crate paper.
I love this picture of my daughter. Sometimes I'm surprised at the expressions she makes. Most of the time she's laughing her head off, but there are times like this (rare though!).

I started by using several types of ink for the background. It was supposed to be brighter at first, but I think it turned out better this way and matches the atmosphere of the picture. Layering is always my favorite although this time it was hard to make all the papers match. I matted the picture with a black stripe paper to make it stand out. I also used black ink to stamp some script. Black always adds spice!! The air balloons (I hope you can tell they are air balloons!) are handmade. I punched out 3 circles and folded them into half and glued them together. Love how it adds dimention! Here are some close-ups;

The challenge is open until September 29th. I love looking at other peoples layouts and I get a lot of inspiration. I hope mine will inspire you in some way too;)
Thank you for visiting!

Treasure

I made a layout with a memorable picture...my daughter, me and our friends:)
During the summer holidays, we all went to Huistenbosch for 3days. Huistenbosch is a theme park in Nagasaki prefecture, and the townscape is all European. This photo was taken in the teddy bear museum and I like how the boys look happy too with the teddy bear :) The children are friends from pre-school, and like brothers and sisters. I hope this friendship will continue after they grow up too; I know that childhood friends are different from the friends you will make afterwards. That's why I chose the title 'Treasure'.

Thank you for visiting:)

#PURE

Today I made a layout based on this lovely Kraft+ challenge.
I do love these melon colours !!

I wanted to make a sweet layout, so here comes my model:)
I thought the atmosphere of this picture of my daughter would match perfectly with the melon colors. I gathered all the sweet colors...paper, chipboards and other kinds of embellies. I splashed some white acrylic paint on the background, and added some dots with a stamp. Here are the close-ups;

I love this challenge, and I'm sure everyone will love this too!!

together

I made a colorful page based on the awesome sketch of Stuck?! Sketches. Here is the sketch!

This is a picture when my daughter's best friend came to our house for a sleepover. They were so excited, in their pajamas, chuckling and whispering until late at night...My daughter's the only child, and so am I, and I know how it feels to have a friend staying over night and sleeping next to you. So fun !! Anyways, I had to hush them several times, til they finally fell asleep. The next day, they were up so early though, already full of energy, ready to play:) I wanted to make a fun and colorful, bright and exciting layout.

I rotated the sketch, and used several colors for the background. I spread some gesso and scribbled a bit with watercolor pencils, and dabbed some water to shade off the outline. I layered chipboards frames and diecuts, scraps of paper and added more dimension by popping them up. The title and stars were thin wood with light color, so I put some gesso and colored it with brown red ink to make it match. Here are some close ups:

I had so much fun making this layout!
The challenge is open until September 29th.
Grab your picture and papers and begin scrappin' !!

a fresh start (DT work)

  September's Scrap Our Stash Book Inspired Stash Challenge is based on this book cover:)

This challenge reminds me of the time when my daughter was getting ready for school. She was anxious but really excited, wondering what school was going to be like. This is a picture of her, writing Japanese Hiragana. In Japan, children are required to read and write as soon as they enter elementary school. I remember her practicing over and over again. Now she's in 5th grade, and enjoying her school life:)

The paper I chose for the background was already colorful, so I used some black in the center and book paper, which is part of the challenge. For dimention, I popped up the photos and layered some chipboard frames. I used die cut houses and flowers, a border punched fence, a wooden clip and little bits and pieces. Here are some details:)

The challenge is open until September 29th.
You can see all the marvelous layouts of the design team one by one everyday !!
Thank you for visiting:)
